That seems to be what Mayor Luke was saying, well doing with his actions. The Post-Gazette reports today about the SUV story which has a couple of parts Luke used an SUV that is supposed to be used for Homeland Secuirty for a number of trips, including a concert at the Post-Gazette pavilion. When Sargent…

New Campaign Manager Word on the street is that Ravenstahl has hired a new campaign manager. Anyone know who it is? Can Luke Dance? Check out the article in today’s Tribune Review - “Mark, play nice with Luke in the race.” Eric Hyle summaries Luke’s first year in office: Where might this all lead? Ravenstahl…
Doyle vs. Ravenstahl?
| July 27, 2007 | Posted by insider under Gossip, Pittsburgh, Young People |
We had heard a few rumors about this, but the article in the PG this am leads one to believe it is more than a rumor. The PG reports the Mike Doyle has hired Corey O’Connor to join his staff. And that 2 of Doyle’s staff members have joined the Mayor’s office. The interesting part…
Blog Round-Up: Bodack, Sheilds, ACDC

From Agent Ska – Bodack still not responding to Patrick Dowd’s request for debates. Should Agent Ska publish Bodack’s phone number? From The Burgh Report – Doug Sheilds is looking for a new campaign manager. From the Allegheny County Democratic Committee Blog – Nothing. The ACDC blog hasn’t been updated since Dec. 13, 2006. Is…
2 Funny Things

1. Thanks to Pitt Girl at The Burgh Blog for featuring these t-shirts. The name of the t-shirt shop “Parking Chair Pictures Store” caught my eye. But the t-shirt is timely given the Mayors recent travels. 2. I don’t like to post videos that are so popular they make the evening news, but I will…
Where is Denny now?
| March 9, 2007 | Posted by insider under Gossip |
Agent Ska reports that Denny Regan was at the gym this morning. Since Regan is no longer working for the city of Pittsburgh, and racking up hundreds of thousands of dollars in settlements the city is still paying, what is he doing now? One rumor has it that he has an office in Nicky’s Grant…

Word is Michael Lamb is IN, which I think is awesome news. Anyone have any substantiated clues about Doug Shields? Whispers had him “all but decided” but that’s not for-real, imo.
Poll Results Unlikely
| December 4, 2006 | Posted by insider under Elections, Gossip, Pittsburgh, Politics |
This weekend, the Post-Gazette printed results of a poll commissioned by the Ravenstahl campaign. A close look should give us reason to question some of these numbers. A poll done this far out [middle of November] does little more than measure name recognition. It is unlikely that someone who has never run city-wide could out-poll two candidates who HAVE…
Casino wranglings
| November 21, 2006 | Posted by andrea under Gambling, Gossip |
The Post-Gazette ran an article today on the PA Gaming Control Board meeting yesterday that leaves me with lots of questions about what’s not being reported. Forest City is pushing for their casino in Station Square — but rumors I’ve heard around town imply they’re not just limiting their sales pitch to a bigger & better facility there. …
The Next Mayor
| September 21, 2006 | Posted by insider under Elections, Gossip, Location, Pittsburgh |
Okay, so Luke has been all over national TV as the youngest Mayor ever. The City and now the county can’t seem to decide when we will elect a new mayor, which is pretty amazing given that Pittsburgh went through the death of a mayor in 1988 and yet we still haven’t solved the question…
DeFazio stepping down?
| September 15, 2006 | Posted by andrea under Gossip, Government |
The PG is reporting that Allegheny County Sheriff Pete DeFazio is maybe “retiring” next month, 36 years after he first joined the Sheriff’s office. Of course, retirement wouldn’t shield him from indictments, should the feds find him culpable for crimes similar to those committed by his former chief deputy (…er, bribery, mail fraud, money laundering,…
