  1. The case of the house in Greenfield where the girl was raped should not be politicized–beyond the fact that we have a lot of houses in this city that are abandoned and that need to be torn down. The City does sit inactive and should be prodded, as City Council members, community members, and community groups have urged. As part of an effort to get several abandoned houses that are havens for drugs and crime torn down (PIIN’s Holy Ground campaign) and as a Greenfield neighbor with multiple direct connections to this young girl, I think it inappropriate for any candidate to make political hay about this issue unless they have a real chance of actually affecting change.
