Best Campaigns in the Burgh?

There have been lots of articles and conversations about the Obama campaign – what they did and why it worked.  So I have been thinking about campaigns on the local level – what have been some of the best political campaigns in Pittsburgh and why?  What does a campaign need to be successful in Pittsburgh? 1. The fact that Mark DeSantis was able to make a dent in a region that’s been dominated by Dems for so long is a big accomplishment. Even though the Democratic mayoral candidate won, he succeeded in getting people to consider what Pittsburgh might be like with a Republican mayor at the helm.

  2. Maybe Murtha…bring Bill Clinton to town a half a dozen times and presto, people will vote for anybody!
