I am all for cuts but do it gradually. Thjere are many routes that are unnecessary--cut those--reduce service between 10-3pm--all south side buses that are close to the "T" should be eliminated--they have the T to come into town--Let the buses transport the people to the T--Raise the fares NOW--If everyone paid an extra #1.00/day that would be $240,000/week and 12 million/year--that's a good start--Out wehere I live--West Deer Township there are 6 available morning buses--we don;t need 6--but they want to cut every one of them--this is too drastic--If your leg is bleeding you don't amputate--you mend it and let it heel slowly and watch for more bleeding--Let's fix the transit system but not with drastic cuts that affect people that work downtown--What would Pittsburgh do if everyone who rode the bus to work downtown took off just 1 day because they couldn't get to work? Let's all do that--and why in the world would I desire to support Pittsburgh events and food establishments and stores if you cut my bus out?? The effects of this drastic cutting will have long term and ill effects for Pittsburgh--Let's wake up.
